Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled a new collectible pin design for Diamond and Platinum level guests. The pins, which are ship specific for each year, are designed by Romero Britto and are available on all Carnival Cruise Line ships.
New collectible pin revealed
In a live “Good Morning Coffee” Facebook video January 4, as well as in a Facebook post, Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador John Heald discussed the cruise line’s loyalty program and announced the new collectible pin design available to Very Important guests. Diamond and Platinum level Fun Person (VIFP).
The 2022 Loyalty Pin is designed by Brazilian-born Miami artist Romero Britto. The pin design features more colors than previous VIFP pins, with hearts, stars, dots and stripes adding whimsy and energy to the design.
Britto, the founder of the Happy Art Movement which values optimism, hope and love, includes elements of pop culture, graffiti and cubism in his designs. Britto’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in more than 100 countries, including the Louvre in Paris and the Museo Soumaya in Mexico City, as well as in public art installations in New York, Berlin and London.
In addition to the VIFP pins, Romero has collaborated on projects with Audi, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Walt Disney, Universal Pictures, Evian, Invicta, Hasbro and Mattel, among others, and he donates his time, his art and of its resources to more than 250 charities around the world.

Carnival Cruise Line is the official St. Jude Celebration Partner and has raised over $ 18 million for St. Jude to fight childhood cancer through the “Groove for St. Jude” Dance Parties held aboard its ships. ships.
About VIFP pins
Carnival VIFP pins, available on all Carnival ships, are highly sought after by many guests to commemorate their travels. The design changes every year, but always includes the iconic Carnival “whale tail” funnel, ship name and year. Past designs have often included stylized nautical elements, such as ropes, ship wheels, portholes, compasses, or wave-shaped curves.
Former passengers who have reached the Gold level of Carnival’s VIFP loyalty program also receive a collectible pin, but it is not specific to the ship. The designs are also different for Platinum passengers and Diamond passengers.
No pins were available on the 2021 cruises. In his video, Heald explained “The reason why we could not give specific pins to the ship last year [was] because we weren’t sure which ships were coming back.
During the closure of the cruise industry, Carnival Cruise Line demolished four ships: Carnival Fantasy, Carnival fascination, Imaginary Carnival, and Carnival inspiration.
While Pins are typically placed in passenger cabins, 2022 Pins need to be picked up from the Pixels Gallery for now. This is in line with current Carnival health and safety protocols to limit the number of people entering different cabins. Passengers have reported that stocks may be limited, so customers are advised to remove their pins immediately at the start of their cruise.
Upcoming improvements for VIFP guests
Heald hinted in his video that improvements are planned for the VIFP program later in 2022. For now, adjustments have been made to the program to meet health and safety protocols, such as guests must collect their tickets. free gifts rather than having the gifts placed in booths.
In addition to collectible pins, other free loyalty gifts in the past included Yeti mugs, night lights, bluetooth speakers, headphones, blankets, hats, chess sets, newspapers, and more. The giveaways change periodically, and the current loyalty giveaway is the luggage tag, with koozie drinks scheduled for later in the year.
Due to strict boarding procedures meant to limit crowds and speed up the boarding and deplaning processes, priority boarding that many Diamond and Platinum customers love is not yet available, but Heald noted that it would be reintroduced as soon as possible.
Other upcoming upgrades have yet to be announced, but for now, guests can proudly wear their new VIFP 2022 pins as they set off on other Carnival cruises.
