Museum of Graffiti in Wynwood celebrates 2nd anniversary during Art Basel – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

The pandemic has kept us locked up and given us some serious fo-mo, but Basel is back and better than ever. A Miami spot is ready to celebrate in style.

The Wynwood Museum of Graffiti knows how to break it down for Art Basel.

The museum showcases the history and culture of graffiti, and this year’s Art Basel also happens to be the museum’s second anniversary.

Allison Freidin, Co-Founder, Museum of Graffiti: “The art of graffiti permeates Miami. We are so lucky to be located right in the center of everything here in Wynwood. We have murals around us with world class graffiti ”.

To celebrate the special occasion, they go all out.

Allison Freidin: “We have an array of programs you wouldn’t believe. We offer free Pumas, we organize breakdance demonstrations. We’re going to have a Fuzi exhibit. He is a French graffiti artist who has an absolutely incredible cartoon style.

If you’ve been dating Wynwood lately, you’ve seen his work.

Fuzi, graffiti artist: “My style is essentially defined by a nuanced style. It’s like all the faces I see in the streets, in a crowd, that I bring together, and it creates a universe. Today I paint this piece, which will be my exhibition. It will be painted everywhere, so people can literally walk into my world.

You can even get tattooed by the artist, only if you get there on opening day, Wednesday.

If you’re lucky, you might grab some Puma sneakers, which you can customize.

If you come here on certain days, the first 25 people to enter will get free Pumas and the ability to work with a live artist who will do some customization.
