Opening of a new exhibition at the Center d’art – Sentier du Parc des Estes-Gazette

Opening of a new exhibition

“Bill Fritz and his Daughter Sandy” featuring member artist Bill Fritz and his oil paintings sharing the exhibit with the acrylic works of his daughter Sandy.

Bill Fritz, originally from Mitchell, South Dakota, and his wife, Dana, moved to Estes Park 24 years ago when he retired from a career as executive art director and creative director for a large national advertising agency. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. After graduating, Bill returned to the Midwest working at agencies in Minneapolis and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, winning awards in print and television advertising. After moving to Estes Park, Bill’s interest shifted from photography to oil painting. His work was accepted in the jury exhibition “Lines into Shapes” where he won first place, oil painting, in 2012. He won the Best of Show award and honorable mention at the Fall Show annual Cultural Arts Center.

Sandy Fritz is a fun art artist. She is self-taught and participates in the courses of other artists. Learning new things is essential to stay inspired. She creates her art as a collection of mixed media including alcohol inks, watercolors, textures, papers, graffiti, acrylic and oil paints, metals and all that. that adds the fun touch that the artwork needs. The multi-step process used in the creation of his art is what appears on the canvas full of life and movement.

His work has won prizes along the way. Gilbert Visual Art League awarded his mixed media work “Orbit” 2nd place for mixed media in 2010. The town of Greeley, Colorado, awarded him “Holy Cow” with the purchase to be part of their art in public places in 2013. Lincoln Gallery Sweetheart Show in Loveland, CO, awarded him 2nd place for mixed media in 2014 for “Love Notes”.

“My art is whimsical a bit like me. I like to laugh. My art expresses my way of seeing the world; full of life, colors and emotions. My art shows that it’s the little things that become a bigger picture, which in turn makes the world go round. Enjoy.”
