SANKUANZ FW22 epitomizes deconstructionist design

Characterized by a deconstructionist aesthetic, the SANKUANZ Fall/Winter 2022 collection mixes high fashion and streetwear styles. Titled “A Room With No Sound,” founder and creative director Shangguan Zhe elevates the brand’s broad inspiration cadence by not only mixing sartorial notes, but reincorporating elements from previous collections.

Blending an array of styles, the collection’s slightly dystopian personality represents the destruction of social class and the resulting celebration of uniqueness. Garments like square-shouldered suits, elongated button-up shirts, exaggerated tracksuits, restructured co-ords, and shapeless pants exemplify Zhe’s contemporary approach to changing sartorial grades. Outerwear is an eye-catching offering with floor-length overcoats in multicolored furs and printed patterns.

Additionally, pieces in the collection are enhanced with graffiti prints, steel embellishments, voluminous tulle and various textures – showcasing both the range and complexity of emotion. One of the highlights of the collection is an oversized black crocodile leather biker jacket featuring gold metal SANKUANZ logo patches throughout. For a tailored offering, another highlight of the collection is a monochrome suit set consisting of a structured one-button asymmetric blazer and relaxed crinkle nylon trousers.

To further create the dystopian atmosphere, the models walked the runway with cloudy white eyes and alien cheekbone accents while holding abstract human-inspired sculptures created by artist Yuyu Wang. Watch the collection video above which took place at the Old Union Church in Shanghai, China.

In the news of Paris Fashion Week, Acne Studios’ FW22 collection presents a poetic evolution of the on-the-go wardrobe.
